Caring for our Communities in Aotearoa

Did you know that 91% of all donations made in New Zealand are given to just 9% of all charities? This means that selected "popular" causes, organisations, and regions are better funded than others who are doing work that is just as important.

Unfortunately, it is community charities who are missing out on their share of donations. These are the charities who have a visible presence in your community. Those you can walk in to when you need things like:

  • A food parcel
  • Some warm clothing
  • Help dealing with government departments
  • Guidance on raising children
  • Counselling sessions, or
  • Just some general company and support

At the Catalytic Foundation we support community charities across the country with:

  • Financial grants
  • Mentoring to build their capacity and capability,
  • Volunteer hours, and
  • Sourcing the goods and services their community needs, like warm clothes

The charities we support are vetted using a rigerous 10-point check that ensures they are fiscally responsible and addressing vital needs in their community.

We invite everyone to contribute to our donation pool, which is distributed annually to community charities around the country. When lots of people make small, regular donations, our donation pool thrives, and more charities can be supported by the Catalytic Foundation's work and receive financial grants.

You can help fill our donation pool by joining up for regular payday giving, making a one-off donation, or leaving us a bequest. Please join us today!
